So I'm in Milan and had no real plans but a friend said I had to see 'The Last Supper'. Due to poor wifi I couldn't book before I got here, so I tried last night to book online, only to find out the booking agents were booked solid for the next 3 days, (I'm here just for 1).

Got up this morning to see if hotel reception could help, but to no avail. Oh well, I'll just go straight there and try my luck...the actual venue was booked for the next 2 weeks. So, I went about my day, still wanting to see it, but not going to let it consume me. I'm on holiday, so why be disappointed, just enjoy another country.

Spent the morning getting lost in a castle then thought I'll go on a hop on hop off bus. That'll be nice... sadly it wasn't, Milan doesn't actually have much. I mean when you point out the HQ of their soccer team you know there's a bit of culture lacking. However, they did say in their brochure to speak to us for 'skip the queue Last Supper tickets'.

So at 3:40pm I walk into their office, you know just to try my luck... well bugger me, they had 1 ticket left to their 4pm tour, (the last of the day). As you can see from the selfie above, I guess sometimes it really does pay to focus on the things you want, (being a Glass Half Full realistic optimist), because you never know what might happen!!

Footnote: The Last Supper is presumed to have been commenced around 1495–1496 and was commissioned as part of a plan of renovations to the church and its convent buildings by Leonardo's patron Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan. The painting represents the scene of The Last Supper of Jesus with his disciples, as it is told in the Gospel of John, 13:21. Leonardo has depicted the consternation that occurred among the Twelve Disciples when Jesus announced that one of them would betray him.

Great story. I am great believer of just asking or trying anyway. Whats the worse that can happen. Nice ending![thumb]
